![]() ![]() I chose to sat back and let everyone else decide on what they wanted, because most of the time what everyone else wants is not something I’ll eat. So after we sat down and ordered drinks, we had to decide on what appetizers we wanted to try. I don’t know if it was the 2 glasses of wine (on an empty stomach) I had at my brother’s place before we grabbed an Uber to the restaurant, or or just the fact that I was feeling good, and adventurous, but I decided that I was going to step a little bit out of my comfort zone and try something else, as well as whatever appetizer the group chose.Īlso, I’m sure anyone that reads this site is pretty bored of me just reviewing burgers at some of these nicer restaurants. ![]() I had briefly looked to see what sort of food they had before we left the house, but once I saw the burger listed, I just sort of glanced past everything else with no intention of even thinking of going another direction… but that sort of changed when we sat down. When we arrived at the restaurant I was 99% sure I was going to get the cheeseburger that was on the menu. I had no clue what kind of food it was, since I didn’t bother to look at the menu, but since I wasn’t about to make any suggestions of my own, I was good with the choice. Thankfully at some point my brother and his wife just decided to step in and make a reservation at Beatrix in Fulton Market, which is fairly close to their place in the West Loop, so it was perfect. My mom sent out a few emails asking for ideas and suggestions, but pretty much nobody responded. So with babysitters confirmed shortly after the initial email was sent out, it was time to decide on a place to eat. And while that wasn’t that long ago, time slows down when you’re chasing a 3.5 and a 1 year old around, so we jumped at the chance. I think the last time was when we went to Ella Elli. ![]() A chance to go into Chicago without our kids? Yes please.ĭon’t get me wrong, we love our children, but it’s been a while since my wife and I have gone out to dinner with just adults. Beatrix Fulton MarketĪbout a month ago, my mom threw out the idea of doing an ‘adults night out’ without our kids, to celebrate my brother and my dad’s birthdays, which fall in the middle of September. Oh, what’s that you say… they have a burger on the menu? Oh, well in that case I’ll be just fine.Īnd I was, but surprisingly I did not end up getting said burger, and was much happier with the choice I did make. “The New Healthy” is the tag line for Beatrix restaurant in the Fulton Market district of Chicago, which is pretty much the exact opposite of what I look for in a tag line when choosing a restaurant to eat at, but you gotta branch out of your comfort zone sometimes. ![]()
