The Cineform AVI files should playback easily and also it significantly speeds up my final render times compared to using the MP4 files directly in the sequence. I tend to use my full clip here and make adjustments with keyframes and this is much quicker then doing it in magic bullet then needing to pre render each time to get decent playback. Then you will get back to the original raw file with which you can use cineform for basic grading and wb adjustments. But once converted to cineform AVI they play fine in media player or PP.Īnother thing is that once you convert files to cineform if shot in protune it will default add the protune profile which I really dont like very much, so what you can do is go to step 2 in cineform, select your clip and press reset all or choose preset none. I never noticed that they dont play back in VLC, funny as its the best player for the original MP4 files for me. Then it will batch process those clips to AVI files which you can then do what you wish (except playback in VLC etc) You can select multiple files and also use the "In/Out" function to only output selected clips. You can choose where the Cineform AVI files get exported to and then import those AVI files into PP. I have also been doing the same with gopro cineform AVI 3d files by doing all the 3d settings in cineform and then editing my sequence in premiere pro and export via adobe media encoder. There is little point exporting out MP4 files from cineform as you have no options regarding the output and in adobe I have complete control using these files. Using cineform avi files in adobe lets you encode your files in any format without issues and plays nicely within premiere pro cs6 too. The funny thing is that the little intro sequence was shot using my samsung Galaxy s4, and this wasn't playing nice either for some odd reason so I converted it to gopro cineform AVI in order for it to play smoothly in premiere pro. So every other protune enabled format had no issues only 4k12 doesnt even recognize the video part and 4k15 doesn't play smoothly. In this video all the files that are either "protune off" or "protune on ungraded" were using the original MP4 files and all protune graded was using the cineform AVI files. Thats why I didnt use the ungraded 4k12 video and the 4k15 pauses for about 4 seconds at the start. I rarely use the 4k modes and when I have I used the cineform AVI files in the past, here at 1:50 you can see the 4k15 video pause and I also wanted to add the 4k12 original MP4 file but it showed up as just an audio file in premiere for me. But it can encode 4k or above footage since it has a REDCODE plugin.Īdobe has no issues with the cineform AVI files in any format and I use these all the time it even handles 2.7k mp4 files ok but I did just notice the 4k issue after rendering my mode comparison video here. The main issue is that Adobe Media Encoder does not recognize the 4kcin or 4k footage from the GoPro camera.
